About Us

Keri & Raewyn have been operating the Napier Antique & Jewellery Centre since 1995.

It all began back in the Wairarapa as children, when their father Kevin had a passion for bottle collecting.

Kevin took his young daughters out with him and they went searching under old houses looking for bottles. The girls soon got sick of all the hard work for little return, and their first ever deal was made at ages 7 & 8, with their father to go halves in all the profits from then on! The next bottle search proved to be very fruitful & the girls could not believe how much money they had made. The girls loved going searching from that day on !

Helping with Auctions in the 1960’s at their patent’s auction mart was the next job for the girls, followed by cleaning the brass bed ends, their father had brought in from England in the 70’s for his Antique Store.

Keri joined Kevin in his new Antique store in Napier as a school leaver in the late 1970’s and Raewyn Joined after a banking career in 1989.

In 1995 a decision was made to buy the old Art Deco woollen mill building on the corner of Tennyson St and Cathedral Lane to turn it in to an Antique Centre. Situated in the famous Art Deco Quarter of Napier, the business has been a real passion for the family, Kevin, retiring 5 years ago, but still retaining a section that he sells from within the store.

The Antique Centre leases spaces to a number of dealers from around the country, and are now leasing singular cabinets out to sell from as well. New stock arrives daily in store as people bring in box lots, or one off pieces from all over the country. Gold is also traded daily in store.

Keri & Raewyn have expanded the Antique side, to now also include a lot of Art Deco dresses & clothing and a large jewellery section, “Glitzy Bitz". They both travel overseas a few times a year sourcing exciting products from around the globe, and are extremely passionate about continually improving their 600 sq metre treasure trove.
